The Granvik Hostel is the perfect base, when exploring the famous and timeless deep forests of Tiveden, and the beautiful archipelago of northern Vättern, the second largest lake in Sweden.

Everyone is welcome; come alone, in a group of friends, or with your company.

Activities: Hiking, fishing, canoeing, ice skating, horse back riding, advanced world top class survival courses, etc.

Or just come here to relax in the calm and beautiful countryside.

Location: 10 km north of Karlsborg. 60 km east from Skövde. 210 km from Göteborg and 270 km from Stockholm.

The hostel is open all year round, and you can arrive any time of day.

Our guests appreciate the large social room, where many tales about the big trout and salmon of Vättern will be told during this autumn and winter!

Granvik is situated along the road (49) between Aksersund and Karlsborg, 13 km north of Karlsborg and 40 km south of Askersund. It sits only 50 meters from road 49 in the village of Granvik. Distance to the shores of Vättern, the harbour and one of the most beautiful small archipielagos of Sweden is only about 400 meters.

The hostel holds 20 beds in 7 rooms, 4 of them are double rooms. There is a comunal kitchen and a very large social and dining room.

News: There is a café loacted just in front of the hostel. here you can have your breakfast, and also order bread

Canoe for rent; 50 sek per day, in the small lake 80 meters from the hostel

Hiking trails: There are 6 trails in Granvik, among them the very beautiful “Granviksleden”, 6km, which starts right from the hostel. Beautiful terrain, passing right next to 3 lakes!

Smoked trout, salmon and other fish caught in Vättern: “Klangehamns fiskrökeri” 2,5 km south from the hostel. Opening hours: 09 00 – 18 00. All days.

Groseries: In Karlsborg or at “Hankens Livs”, 9 km south from the hostel, before getting to Karlsborg

We can arrrange so that a meal will be waiting for you upon your arrival. Fish or meat, sallad, pasta or potatoes and a beverage.
